Roth campaign: U.S. Rep. Fitzgerald endorses Roger Roth in WI-08

APPLETON, WI – Today, Wisconsin’s 5th District Congressman Scott Fitzgerald endorsed Roger Roth in his campaign for the 8th Congressional District. The endorsement marks the first member of the Wisconsin Congressional delegation to endorse in the 8th District primary.

In his endorsement of Roth, Congressman Fitzgerald stated:

“Roger Roth is a proven leader and would be a great addition to the 119th Congress. Roger’s experience and expertise as a Captain in the Wisconsin Air Guard with multiple deployments overseas is sorely needed in the House of Representatives, where only 18% of members have served in uniform. Roger would be a great addition to the House Armed Services Committee and a dedicated advocate for our men and women in uniform.

Roger Roth has a strong and diverse understanding of the issues facing Wisconsinites, developed through his legislative service, including presiding over the Senate as President; this depth of knowledge will be invaluable to him as a new member of Congress.

Most importantly, Roger Roth has an unwavering conservative and pro-life record, ready to fight for the people of Northeast Wisconsin on day one. For these and many other reasons, I am proud to support Roger Roth for Congress”

In 2016, then Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald was among the earliest and most prominent Wisconsin legislators endorsing President Trump, saying in part: “We’re on the Trump train now.”  Roger Roth is a Captain in the Wisconsin Air National Guard, a third-generation homebuilder in Northeast Wisconsin, and proven conservative candidate running for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.
